As part of our Long Story Short series, tomorrow we will tackle the historical books. We will cover around 1,000 years of Hebrew history as we give footnotes versions of the book of Joshua through Esther. We will see what led to the downfall of Israel and how all these years later it could still lead to our downfall today. It has been said that “those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Let’s learn from those historical books so we don’t have to repeat them!

We work hard to change those reactions to a spouse, child, co-worker, or fellow commuter, but are we really resolving what is going on or just fixing the symptoms?
Today, we are going to talk about how we can protect our heart and ensure that we are investing the right way into our heart so that our reactions are a by-product of what is really in us.

April 9, 1865, at Appomattox Court House in Virginia the Army or Northern Virginia surrendered to the Union Army. It was the first of many dominos to fall in bringing the American civil war to an end. This surrender recast the direction of an entire nation. It forecast the future directing a whole country into a brand new journey.

The heart has always been considered the most important part of the human body. No matter how strong the rest of the body is, if the heart is sick, we will be sick. Amazingly, modern science can now perform heart transplants. The first successful heart transplants were in the 1960’s, but today around 2,000 heart transplants happen each year. Spiritually speaking, God also wants to perform heart transplant. He removes our old sick heart and replaces it with a new heart that logs to know and follow him. Like the human heart, the heart of this new heart every area of your life.
Join us as Pastor Brent shares his personal story of how God’s heart transplant changed a very personal area of his life, and how he is so much better because of it.

According to the American heart Association, nearly half (48%) of Americans have some form of cardiovascular (heart) disease. This includes the 647,000 Americans that die from heart disease every year, and the 805,000 Americans that have a heart attack each year. The internal struggle of unmanageable feelings, uncontrollable thoughts and the selfish desires of our hearts can be just as unhealthy to our lives and relationships.
Join us as we are going to talk about how we can win within our own internal struggle by looking to God for a new heart.
